Hi, i am Tim, i went to Kenya with Changing Worlds last year, went out there for 6 months and had a wicked time, was there from April to October 2007.
Went and helped at the local Primary school in Nakuru with 2 other volunters, it was a great experience and saw what little resources the schools have in the way of equiment and funding to keep going on, the kids were amazing as they were always asking you questions and wanted to be near you like to find out more about England.
Also went and help in a local voluntary conservation project in Kisumu which is right next to Lake Victoria, was good to work again with some of the local schools and communitys which live on the banks of the lake.
The Kenyan people are nice and friendly and like to ask you questions about yourself and the country we come from, they are easy going to like to relax and drink beers.
Overall had a wicked time in Kenya and glad i chose to take part as have become a better person, definetly going to go back travelling again.
If you have any questions than you can email me ;- tim_strong_2004@hotmail.com, would be happy to help anyone who was thinking of going to Kenya with any questions or quiries you have.
Tim Strong (Kenya, Aprill to October 2007)

Hi, I'm Rich and I went to kenya in September 2008 with Changing worlds.
Unfortunately we got pulled out in the middle of january because of the political situation in the country, which thankfully is now no longer a problem.
Just a quick overview, i was teaching in a primary school, at Kagoto in Nakuru, and working in St.Stephens orphanage when i could. Both places were amazing, and you can offer so much to both projects, Some of the volunteers bought things for the orphanage, like matresses, blankets, things that made a big difference, and Megan and I helped to renovate the school, where all the floors have been relaid, in and out of the classrooms and all blackboards have been repaired, the children are diamonds and just like tim said the kenyans are some of the friendliest and most laid back people you will ever meet!
If you are considering kenya as a placement, do so you will have the time of your life and there are so many places in Kenya to visit you will have no shortage of things to do!
As a group we went all over the country, weekends away, christmas at the orphanage with the kids and new year on the beach. If you have any questions, let me know. My email address is richieladdd@hotmail.com
I am going back to Kenya in October/November of this year for a while, if anyone is going to be out there i will be living back in Nakuru, and am going back to the school and orphanage.
