Hey Everyone
Im off to oz in spetember 07, is there anyone else heading off at that time? Would be great to hear from anyone and share any ideas, worries etc. Maybe i'm jumping the gun abit, but I can't wait to go!

Im Judie and also heading off to Brisbane Sept 2007!! (plus extremely excited!!)
What type of placement are u doing??I'm doing th hospitality/bar&restaurant!

Hi Judie,
I'm glad I have found someone else who will be going out there at the same time as me . I am doing the Zoo placement and hopefully should be working at the koala sanctuary. How long are you going to stay out there for? My placement is initially for 3 months and i think after that I am just going to travel around, I've not made much plans other than that!!! although i really want to spent a few days staying on a boat on the whitsundays and go diving on the reef. Have you seen anything that you want to do yet?

Sorry it's been a while!!Busy busy !!
Your plans sound great!!im not really sure of my plans bt after my initial 6 months of the work placement am hoping to travel too!Really hope to visit sydney and generally see as much of oz as poss!and would love to take a trip over to new zealand--looks amazing!!Have you sorted out your visa yet???

No iv not got round to sorting my visa yet, Im not quite sure how to apply, i dont think it is too difficult tho, i think you can do it through quite a few websites. Iv been using http://www.gapyear.com to get some ideas for my trip have you been on that site? Have you got a back pack sorted yet? I want to get one with wheels cos im only little and a bit of a weakling and dont think i would be able to carry one around all the time. lol.

| hi jenni! hows things?! im thinkin bout doin this zoo placement but dont know how 2 go about it?! would u b workin aswel as doin the placement? i do wanna head out there around sept time... nothin planned yet... i want the year holiday visa! but would love 2 get some animal experience! im nervous... cos gona b goin out there by myself! love 2 hear from u! x

Hey Samantha,
I'm pretty nervous about going on my own aswell, but i'm never going to get the chance to do something like this ever again so I might aswell just go for it! Everyone who is going with Changing Worlds gets to meet up before we go out there, so at least we will know people when we are out there
I have just finished doing a degree in Animal Behaviour and really want to get some experience working with them before i decide what i want to do with it. And i thought if im going to volunteer i might aswell do it in a hot country! I am not planning on working while i am out there but i did ask about the hours at the koala sanctuary and they they said its not full time hours so if i was struggling for money it would be possible to get a job in a bar or something. After the 3 months im planning on travelling along the west coast and then maybe heading to Perth (my Uncle lives there) and maybe going to New Zealand depending on how much flights are.
Let me know what your plans are, its good to discuss it with someone else who's thinking of doing the same thing.

yeh it is pretty scary! not havin ne 1 2fall bac on :S i did go 2 uni last year 2 do zoology but didnt do my last exams cos it wasnt the right time 4 me and i wernt concentratin enough and doin my work so i dropped out went 2 thailand 4 3months travellin and now ive come bac im just workin earning money 2 go sumwhere else! ive always wanted 2 go 2 oz, so i thought cos i still dnt really no wot i wanna do, i dnt wanna waste another year next year just workin, i hate it in swansea, its soooo boring! so i wanna go 2 oz at end of year, cos then at least ive dun something with tht year... gd experience, then i might go bac 2 uni after the year... it may help me decide wot i wanna do! :S as u can c my heads all over the place lol!
so i dnt really no where 2 start.... i aint planned nothing at all yet... thts quite scary!
yeh i wanna travel around oz and c the diff places 2!
i dunno i suppose i cud just go over there and just work for a year out there... which means i gotta change jobs every 3months cos i cant stay with 1 employer more than tht! was thinkin i might do 3 months harvest work 1st tho, cos then u can get another year in oz!
id b very gratefull if u could giv me some advice on where 2 start plannin and tht!

| hey guys, all getting excited i see! Visa applications can be made at http://www.immi.gov.au but if you don't get chance to sort it out before your predeparture days, David will be going through all that with you.
