| Hi Lucie - that's great news; sounds like you're doing really well with your sponsorship. If you let us know the companies that have sponsored you we will write and thank them also.(email david@changingworlds.co.uk). from Jo at Changing Worlds

Good plan with the tambourines! Are you musical? I was hoping to get a few guitars for the kids to learn and a sitar for myself! I don't know how long, at the minute 3 months. Shannon, who I'm going with reckons 3 months will be more than enough, as he is from India. Think my family might come out over for christmas, so I might go with them for a few weeks. I was thinking about maybe going to Thailand or somewhere for a while, as I'll probably never get another chance to go to Asia again. What are you planning?
£400 from a party?! That's tidy, what did you do for it? I raised £400 from a gig and hoping to make another £50 plus from a fancy dress 5 a side football tournament. Shannon and I were gonna have a sponsered party, but no venue wouldn't let us due to underage drinking laws etc.

i was thinking of staying for the full 6 months, but I'll make up my mind once im there! i might miss everyone too much! also, not sure about missing christmas! oh well, we'll see!
fancy dress football, blimey how does that work!? sounds like a laugh! i think i might use my baking skills ( ) to do a few cake sales, and write to a few more people for sponsorship!
do you know what date the pre departure course is? i cant wait!!

Cool, you can see ALL of india then. I wasn't blessed with baking skills sadly, I managed to explode (not even joking) a hot cross bun in the microwave the other day. I'm a real liability in the kitchen. We don't cook our own food out there do we...
According to dave Gill, the course will be held on 16th-17th July in Chatham, North Kent- bit of a trek, but worth it. Do you know where you're staying yet?
Fancy dress football is essential, football but less boring and mildy less funny. It should be fun though, though no-ones paid their money in. Cheeky.

oh noooo! ive got a holiday booked until the 17th! rubbish! oh dear, i'll have to give him a ring
no we get food provided by the orphanage apparently, but i reckon you'll want to cook a bit for yourself coz the food will get a bit boring. dont worry, i think of myself as a bit of a culinary whizz in the kitchen so i'll happily whip you up some gourmet delights!
where about are you from? kent isnt much of a trek for me!

Hi,
David from Changing Worlds here...
I contacted Krish our representative in Chennai and he came back with:
'
Normally this substance is added
with the betal leaves rolled up with shredded coconut
etc., etc, and consumed at the end of a meal .
(called Beeda)
This makes a person drowzy , dizzy causing an effect
similar to that of brown sugar etc., . The unsuspecting consumers
may faint (encouraging people around them to steal every thing
they have on them while in this deep slumber !)
So this is like telling people not to take drugs !!
Not to accept food , drink , biscuits , sweets etc., offered by strangers,
fellow travellers in the trains , bus , etc., however friendly they may sound
Best wishes
Krish

| Bhang!? That sounds funny. I'll try my best not to consume any. A 3 day coma sounds rough. Will be loving the bhangra tho. The programme was good, but very sad too. you can probably catch it on 4oD or something. It's apparently the fastest growing economy in the world, but there's still loads of poverty.

Hey,
I thought bout staying for the 6 months but my nepthew is due a month after a leave so I don't think I'd like the idea of me staying for the 6 months and then getting home and my nepthew being already 6months old?!?!
Plus I dont wanna miss christmas dinner! But yet I would love to stay for the 6 months.
Not long now, Im well excited! Yet so so nervous, my brother in law who has travelled all over the world keeps telling me horror stories of bugs and spiders! lol
O I have Myspace- add me http://www.myspace.com/gingerellie
Cheers

Hi everyone,
Lucie and Kanika are here at the moment doing their pre-departure course, Lucie wants to know if anyone would like to meet up in London one day in September to get the visas! It would be a good idea to go together as it can be a very boring/frustrating process, and you need to get there quite early in the morning.
If you email me on shirley@changingwords.co.uk I can give you Fran's email if you haven't got it yet. are you all getting exited about going?
