I've just arrived home after an incredible eight months abroad. Once I left India I continued to meet a friend and trek through The Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam. It really has been a soul enriching time.
I'll keep the email brief because I know you're a busy man! I just wanted to say thanks to you, and all of the staff at Changing Worlds for making such an amazing opportunity available to me. India was by far the highlight of my time away and the friends I made there will stay dear for many years to come. The articles I had printed have enabled me to gain a placement with The Times, after which I will continue to complete a masters in Journalism. Some of the photos I took have been selected by National Geographic to be published in a hardback photography book entitled 'India: A Visual Journey'.
Krish is a very special person and is somebody I will always look up to. I will certainly keep in contact (even if it's just to nag him for job opportunities!). For the duration of my placement I felt safe in the knowledge that no matter what problem may arise, Changing Worlds would do whatever possible to resolve the situation. I took great pleasure in all of the personal touches that came with such an intimate company and if there is one piece of feedback I would offer then it would be to hold onto this quality. It really made the difference.
On a personal note Dave, I really recognised the distances you went to ensure our piece of mind. Seeing the director in person so far from home was a privilege I doubt any other gap year company can offer.
Even if I my suspect you enjoy a nice little company funded holiday from time to time!
To conclude, my experiences in India were unforgettable. I would like to offer my services on any open days etc you may be planning in the near future. I still remember how open and friendly the past participants were and I'd love to help out in the same way.
